Differences between De and Del
From diff.wiki
As a Spanish learner it can be tricky to know when to use “de” and when to use “del”. Truth is, they both mean the same. The only thing that changes is that whenever the preposition “de” is followed by the article “el”, the contraction “del” must be formed. In every other case, “de” can remain by itself (de la, de los, de las).
