Full Bed vs. Twin Bed
Full and twin are two standard mattress sizes in the United States.[1] The primary distinction between a full and a twin bed is their width.[2] Both mattress sizes are 75 inches (191 cm) long, but a full bed is 54 inches (137 cm) wide, while a twin bed is 38 inches (97 cm) wide.[3][4] This gives a full-size bed an additional 16 inches (41 cm) of width.[5]
Full beds are sometimes referred to as double beds. Twin beds may also be called single beds. Both sizes are widely available from mattress retailers.
