They are more expensive than inkjets and use costlier toner cartridges which is a more economical option in the long run when the overall costs of both laser and inkjet are added together. It also has a faster print speed than inkjet, making it costly when bought at first.

Cartridge life expectancy If it is not used for a long time, the cartridge could dry. It can be kept unused for a long time.
Cartridge pricing The ink in the cartridge should be refilled on a short time, which can be pretty expensive. The cartridge doesn't need to be refilled over and over.
Speed They are slower compared to laser printers. They are faster compared to inkjet printers.
Size They are usually smaller in size. They are larger than an inkjet printer.
